This long-respected choir, the Maidstone Choral Union, was formed 121 years ago when a group of gentlemen wanted to join the ladies Glee Club in 1902. Ciara is very happy to accept the post of Conductor and Music Director, starting April 2023.

Maidstone Voices

Founder - Music Director

Ciara is the founder and music director of Maidstone Voices, a welcoming, non-auditioning choir for the community in and around Maidstone, Kent, UK.  This friendly choir comprises men and women aged 18 and over, and is rapidly growing, already reaching 50 members in its first year.  Maidstone Voices performed their first concert in November 2019, to a large audience at St. Paul's Church, Maidstone.

East Malling Singers

Ciara has been the music director of East Malling Singers, a long established, mixed-voice choir of approximately 90 performers, since 2013.  The choir performs a wide variety of sacred and secular music, regularly working with London’s operatic soloists and an orchestra comprising talented freelance professionals.

Kent Music

Kent Youth Choir & Kent County Junior Choir

Ciara has recently been installed in the prestigious role of conductor of the Kent Youth Choir, an auditioned choir consisting of Kent’s most talented singers, aged 14 to 21.  The choir performs advanced choral repertoire spanning a variety of genres and periods.

Ciara also continues as conductor of the Kent County Junior Choir, a children's choir with members between the ages of 11 and 14.  This choir aims to broaden the childrens' musical education, preparing them for their musical career to follow, and consequently helps them to progress towards the senior choirs.

These roles are especially close to Ciara's heart, as she herself is a product of the Kent Music system.

MYMS Voices

Maidstone Youth Music Society

Ciara is the conductor of MYMS Voices, a non-auditioned children's choir she started in 2015, growing it from a cohort of just 5 to the circa 90 6 to 18 year-olds it comprises today.

As a former member of MYMS herself, Ciara is able to combine her passion for conducting with giving back to an organisation that means a lot to her.

The Vigo Singers

Ciara is the music director of The Vigo Singers, an inclusive 35-strong female choir that performs all over Kent.  Under Ciara's musical leadership, in the past few years the choir have taken their varied repertoire of classical, spirituals, songs from the shows and modern popular music on bi-annual tour, pairing with local choirs in Ireland and France.
